Chris Parkes
Professor Chris Parkes from the University of Manchester enjoys colliding protons at the CERN Large Hadron Collider, the world’s largest and most powerful particle collider. He, and 1417 of his closest friends from 72 institutes in 17 countries, study the differences between matter and antimatter with the Large Hadron Collider Beauty (LHCb) detector. Chris is the deputy leader elect of the experiment and has published over 500 scientific papers. He lives in Manchester with his wife, son, and encyclopaedic collection of David Bowie albums.
