Climate Heroines
This panel is set to explore the links between gender justice and climate justice, addressing the issue of the women who exist on the front lines of the climate emergency. Around the world, women and girls are hard hit by the impacts of the climate emergency, yet their voices in official responses and institutions of power are not sufficiently heard. This panel is populated by supporters of CARE International, a charity set up in 1945 to support people recovering from war. CARE works in 100 countries around the world, finding long term solutions to poverty for millions every year. Members of CARE are joined by representatives from Practical Action, a charity set up to address catastrophic climate change and persistent gender inequality.
