Craig Charles’ Space Funk Odyssey
You may know him from the Red Dwarf, Coronation Street or his hilarious narration on Takeshi’s Castle but there’s more to the man. Over the last fifteen illustrious years, Craig Charles has honed his DJ skill set with a primetime slot on BBC Radio 6 Music and most recently his set on BBC Radio 2 – ‘The Craig Charles House Party’. On 6 Music’s ‘The Funk and Soul Show’, Craig allows his childhood to influence his love of music – playing artists such as Edwin Star, Marvin Gaye and Ray Charles. Since 2002, Craig has ensured that he keeps introducing funk and soul music to his loyal fans. The Funk and Soul Show has allowed him to become one of the UK’s most beloved radio DJs – delivering the best tunes to those who hunger for new and old music. However, this is just a part of what Craig Charles does. Rather than deprive the UK of their funky desires his DJ skills go on the road under the moniker The Funk and Soul Club.
Time isn’t slowing down and neither is Craig Charles, either through the airwaves or in person. You can even groove on the move with his hand-picked, floor filling, soul spilling compilation albums available on Freestyle Records.
Craig Charles will be bringing a bespoke bluedot exclusive set, exploring the sounds of Space Funk Odyssey for an out of this world late night party in Mission Control.
