Lighting Up Science
Diamond Light Source is the UK’s synchrotron – a machine which produces a light billions of times brighter than the sun. This light is used to uncover the atomic and molecular structures of materials from meteorites to viruses. Thousands of scientists from around the UK and beyond use this light in their work every year.
Come and find out how lighting up science can help us answer some of the most important questions facing our world today. We will be exploring how researchers are speeding up drug discovery, solving environmental mysteries, and using invisible light to see the world around us in new ways.
